Dan Mather is definitely on our favourites list, he’s humble, highly skilled and always produces top-notch work. He’s a London-based independent screenprinter, graphic designer, cyclist and poster aficionado. Dan learnt his craft at the esteemed London College of Communication, and over the past three years has specialised in water-based hand bench editioning for the graphic design industry, establishing a reputation for producing exquisite screenprint with an attention to detail second to none. One man, from quote to dispatch. #fortheloveofprint #foreverfluoro #handprintedwithlove are some of his favourite hashtags along with #printspotters and #printisntdead of course!.

Spoke Patterns — a repeating pattern of different bicycle wheel-building techniques. Originally designed as wrapping paper for an event, it’s since developed into more products and is becoming quite a collection including; wrapping paper, posters, cards, t-shirts and musettes. Championed mainly by one of his distributors; Look Mum No Hands! in Old St and Mare St. Dan really loves experimenting with different approaches to printing this design, such as the latest fluorescent blends that are printed as A1 sheets, then cropped down into A5 folded cards, making each card not only wrap from front to back, but unique due to the split fountain, or Spoke Fountain as he’s called the full-sheet poster.

For The Love of Print is Dan’s first B1 print. Full bleed, single-colour screenprint, representing his company mantra (+ email signature) as a large-format poster. Open-edition printed in three colourways (black on black, fluoroscent red and black & white) to mark three years of printing earlier this summer. Each birthday he’ll release a new colourway — next year fluoro blue.
