Designed and created by artist, civil engineer and pioneer of the pancake printing machine, Miguel Valenzuela, PancakeBot, started off as a whimsical dream to make a Pancake Machine out of LEGO for his daughters. Feeling inspired after reading an article about a pancake stamping machine in Make Magazine, Miguel developed various LEGO designs, finally printing his first pancake after 6 months of trial and error.
The PancakeBot was revealed to the public for the first time at New Yorks World Maker Faire. The publics response was so great that Miguel made the decision to build a more advanced (less LEGO) version. In 2014, Miguel created an acrylic version of the PancakeBot, showcasing it at both the San Mateo and White House Maker Faire. Again, inspired by the publics response, Miguel partnered with the product innovation company, StoreBound, to create a more refined version of the product.
Together, they succeeded in funding and creating the finalised PancakeBot, the worlds first pancake printer, allowing customers to print anything from a photo of their beloved dog to their very own face.
