Dubbed “The Anthropology of Modern Culture”, Verities is a bi annual, self-published magazine based in London. Focused on provoking thought and reflection through observation, each issue is centred around a theme. The self-proclaimed “magazine for the ultra observant”, aims to provide new ways of looking at the mundane and the ordinary, the overlooked and the understated.
Each issue holds a narrative, told through photography, design, fashion, short works of literature and art, focused on exposing the arresting and irrational in the everyday.
Opening with the phrase Maybe unadorned reality without fiction would be a rather boring place after all”. Their latest issue Deception works to unmask the ways in which humans act (or in a literal sense perform) to meet societal expectations.
