Graphic designer and renowned letterpress printer Dafi Kuhne is publishing a new book with Lars Müller Publishers. Eight years after his first monograph, True Print, which documented around 70 letterpress printed poster works from 2009–2016, the follow-up volume, Poster Cult, is currently in the making. The new book will again feature around 70 new poster reproductions from 2016–2024, and is due to be published on October 31, 2024!
As a very special pre-order offer, Dafi is producing a limited edition of Poster Cult for a discounted price 99 CHF (reduced from 150 CHF). This limited edition, 160 page, signed and numbered book will be wrapped in a letterpress printed jacket containing a folded, signed, and numbered print.
Dafi Kühne is one of Switzerland’s foremost poster designers whose diverse, bold work embraces both traditional production tools and modern design processes. Using analogue printing presses, computer software applications, laser cutters, and freshly cast hot-metal-type, Dafi creates innovative, design-led, large-format posters from his vast letterpress studio in the Swiss Alps.
Printed in 6-colour offset, Poster Cult focuses on the processes, background, and context that informed Dafi’s most recent poster work for a variety of clients including cultural events, concerts, school programmes, and more, as well as a handful of self-initiated projects. Alongside his posters will be texts from Angelina Lippert (Executive Director Poster House NYC) and Christian Brändle (Director Museum für Gestaltung, Zürich), and a short interview with the designer himself.
From now until September 1, the limited edition will be available to preorder at 99 CHF (plus 7 CHF shipping cost to Switzerland/plus 25 CHF shipping cost worldwide). From September 2, any available copies of the limited edition will be sold for 150 CHF plus shipping. The regular book will be at 49 CHF.
