DESCRIPTION:In the Fold is Penumbra Foundation’s four-day forum dedicated to the medium of the photobook\, highlighting the processes between photography\, publishing\, and education. \nFor the 2026 edition\, In the Fold asks what it means for artists and photobook publishers to operate in an increasingly crowded field\, raising the questions of how and why we publish. \nOpen to the public\, the forum kicks off Wednesday\, September 23rd\, from 6-9pm\, with an opening night celebration featuring sounds by Lucy Chang\, aka DJ LaLa. In the Exhibition Space\, attendees are invited to explore the 50 shortlisted books for the 2026 Dummy Award\, the 2026 Susan McLaughlin Risograph Photobook shortlist\, a reading wall of books by In the Fold Presenters\, and Mango Season\, by Jenia Fridlyand.
