SUMMARY:Hot Printing. Offenbach Print Festival\, 22 and 23 August 2026
DESCRIPTION:It’s set to be a colourful and diverse weekend once again: For the third time\, the Hot Printing festival in Offenbach will bring together over 90 artists and collectives who explore the theme of printing in a wide variety of ways. A young and dynamic scene will showcase their printed works – from screen-printed posters to traditional letterpress\, experimental lithography and material printing\, right through to comics and zines in vibrant colours produced on a Risograph printer!\nYou can look forward to stalls\, workshops\, readings\, talks\, exhibitions\, music\, a bar\, good food and inspiring discussions. Find the full festival programme at www.klingspormuseum.de – entry is free! \nPrinting plays a major role in Offenbach’s history: Lithography was first used commercially in Offenbach for printing sheet music at the end of the 18th century\, laying the foundations for the printing of posters and illustrations\, which is now ubiquitous. The Klingspor Museum collects modern and contemporary printed works\, and small print workshops and initiatives have been setting up in the city over the past few years. Printing is simply part of Offenbach’s identity\, and exhibitors from the surrounding area are now looking forward to welcoming a diverse range of visitors\, alongside print enthusiasts from Leipzig\, Hamburg\, Berlin\, Vienna\, Zurich and the Netherlands! \nAs well as browsing and shopping\, you can of course try your hand at printing here too: The hands-on programme includes postcard printing on the Boston platen press in the print workshop\, Lego printing and kitchen lithography\, a sock-printing station using screen printing\, cyanotype and water lithography\, as well as a host of talks\, demonstrations and readings. The workshops are aimed at print enthusiasts of all ages\, whether you’re an experienced printer or a keen amateur – there’s something for everyone! \nHot Printing. SUMMARY:Introduction to Risograph workshop
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\n2.5 hrs workshop\nMaterials and light refreshments provided\n£40 plus booking fee\n\n  \nIn this group workshop you will learn how to create artwork for risograph printing\, supported by an experienced artist riso print practitioner. The workshop is open to people with no prior experience of Riso\, or people seeking a refresher. Riso is a unique form of printing that has similarities with both photocopying and screen printing. It uses a machine called a Risograph to make beautiful\, layered images and graphics\, using digital files and images. \nWe’ll begin by exploring how the risograph printer works and looking at artworks and publications previously made using the machine. Each person will then develop their own two-layered design using a mixture of drawing and collage. We’ll finish with each person printing 10 copies of their design to create 10 x two-colour A3 or A4 prints to take home. \nPeople completing the Riso Introduction workshop will be able to book an Open Access slot at the TACO! print studio to independently continue the development of their learning or projects. \nWhat to bring and what is included \n\nAll materials are provided in the workshop.\nPlease bring some ideas\, printed images and text that you might want to use in your print.\nLight refreshments are included and the Print Studio has a kitchen with microwave\, kettle and toaster for preparing your own food should you need to.\n\nAbout the lead workshop artists \nChloe Cooper is an artist and educator living in Thamesmead. She makes zines and prints using her A4 inkjet printer and the risograph printer at the TACO! Print Studio\, and has published and exhibited widely. \nTommy Brentnall is an artist\, illustrator\, book designer\, and educator living in London. He runs the publishing imprint Physical Interface. \n  \n\nHot Printing. Offenbach Print Festival\, 22 and 23 August 2026 was last modified: July 24th\, 2026 by
