DESCRIPTION:Every place preserves the traces of those who pass through it. \nGaratelier is a new studio dedicated to fine art printmaking and artistic research\, opening its doors in Rubano\, near Padua\, Italy. To celebrate its opening\, Garatelier launches TRACCE\, its first international Open Call\, inviting artists from all over the world to submit one original work on paper that explores the idea of a trace\, a journey\, a transformation\, a memory\, a place\, a passage\, or a research process still unfolding. \nSelected works will be presented as part of Garatelier’s inaugural exhibition and included in the first publication dedicated to the project. Number of participants: 10 \nWhat is linocut and what are bookplates?\nLinocut is an artistic printing technique that uses an engraved linoleum plate to reproduce images or writing on paper\, fabric\, or cardboard. The term derives from “linoleum” and the Greek “grapho\,” meaning “to write” or “to draw.” It has been used since ancient times to reproduce works of art and more!
Bookplates are personalized stamps that often somehow represent the owner’s personality and are used to mark the ownership of books.

Join the collective in the building where they make their work to browse fresh prints\, classic favourites and enjoy some serious bargains.  \nAbout Underway Studio  \nFounded in 2015\, Underway Studio is an illustration and printmaking collective based in South London. The four members work collaboratively on design projects using silk-screen print as a primary medium. Much of the collective’s work is inspired by architecture\, form\, texture and colour.
