Multidisciplinary visual designer and print enthusiast based in Hong Kong, Michaelle Tang, is bringing her The Flowery series to a brand new show from 2 September to 30 October at PMQ in Hong Kong. The Flowery sees the designer elaborate botanical illustrations depicting the blooming season after winter, after the harsh time and the silver lining from an unpleasant situation; “A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and they are an assertion that a ray of beauty out values all the utilities in the world.”
The collection delineates the relationship between line, shapes, and form. The Flowery incorporates a range of various organic lines and negative space to create refined, yet crafty detailed designs placed against a background, without gradations in shade or hue to represent both two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects. The designs cover repeated elements defined by a rhythmic figure that propels scenes of dynamic visual action and demonstrate the fine line detailing of the graphics.
Each piece on display showcases a combination of Antalis’ Creative Papers — Skin Black, Pop’Set and Polytrade Lorenzo Parchment, executed with speciality dry inks from Iridesse production press.
The Flowery exhibition takes place from 02 September to 30 October 2023, at S510, PMQ, 35 Aberdeen St, Central.
