London Illustration Fair 2023 is just three weeks away, and now’s your chance to bag 20% off entry with unique code POP20. This November, London’s biggest artist-led illustration event will be returning to London’s iconic Bargehouse, OXO Tower Wharf, Southbank, with another jam-packed festival of illustration. Join the celebrations with over four floors of prints, products, workshops, and festivities.
Alongside 60+ artists, illustrators, collectives, and small businesses, this year a handpicked selection of incredible featured artists explore the themes of love, affection, and acceptance – bringing a series of interactive installations, panel discussions and workshops to this unique 4-storey venue.
One of this years’ featured artists is Annie Frost Nicholson (formerly The Fandangoe Kid). Annie is a London-based multidisciplinary artist whose work seeks to smash taboos around the nuanced complexities of the human condition. She will be bringing a brand new uniquely interactive installation to the fair, inviting attendees to express their own “Love Languages” through words and dance.
Annie states; “Love Languages dedicates itself to our collective expression of care and the myriad ways we show affection. We communicate love so differently from one another, sometimes with such diversity that we may as well be speaking another language, the structure varies, the tone is unexpected. Love Languages is a way to unite these narratives and help us to understand one another better, to delight in each other’s differences and celebrate our breadth of expression.”
Illustrators Voxie and Hayley Wall will also both be exploring the theme through augmented reality, breathing life into their illustrations with vivid colours, movement, and purpose, helping create a strong narrative.
The workshops at this year’s fair span everything from masterclasses to drop-in sessions, for the everyday enthusiast to illustrators seeking industry advice. Tapping into the theme of this year’s fair, check out How not to cut your ear off; a study into the positive effects of art and creativity on mental well-being, and a therapeutic furniture painting workshop that starts with mindfulness exercises.
LIF takes place from 24 through to 26 November at Bargehouse, OXO Tower Wharf, Southbank.
