Customising your own homeware has become a recent trend that has exploded in the creative industry. We recently caught with with Creative Designer and founder of The Pillow Talk Cause Saliah Bryan, who set up this artistic platform to seek to gather artists from across the world to design a series of cushions specifically to reflect a cause they care about. Why cushions? Perhaps because they’re part of your home, and one tends to surround themselves with things they like and that reflects their personality. An expression of ones self.
The Pillow Talk Cause aims to create a community creating a social impact, focusing on the particular power of collaboration and joining forces with other platforms who have similar ambitions. The current collection will soon be available, all which have been designed by Saliah Bryan (founding Artist and Designer). This collection is determined to raise awareness and funds for Syrian Refugee charity; Human Care Syria. By purchasing a unique artwork, a percentage of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to a charitable cause.
This particular fundraising project was introduced at this years Reconnecting Arts Exhibition from the 15/08 – 02/09. This exhibition showcases a diverse and refreshing selection of work that encourages dialogue about the power of connection and the complexities of change geographically, personally or artistically. Accompanied by workshops, talks and educational tours, this powerful display is not one to miss out on.
