We’re excited to present a selection of t-shirt designs created by members of our community. From motto’s to live life by, to band tees sold as merchandise, our members have created some amazing tees that we would love to wear. Check them out and grab yours below!
Dotto: Take Up More SpaceThese tees were created by Dotto whilst working on a typographic piece for the New Art School Rules exhibition at Bury Art Museum, curated by John Rooney, Malcom Garrett, Kat Au and John Owen. The brief was to create a new set of collective rules to apply to art school today. ‘Take Up More Space’ was advice Dani from Dotto would give her younger self, as well as to any upcoming creative. “It’s important to celebrate achievements, make your own mark and generally take up much more space—as loudly and as awkwardly as possible” she explains. The tees were produced using Teemill; they are made to order, avoiding any waste, and can be returned and recycled. Read about Teemill’s sustainability policy here.
Florian Tripoteau: La conquête de l’espace – capsule collectionWith his project La conquête de l’espace in mind and his interest in astronomy and the future, Florian has been designing a series of t-shirts since 2018 in order to interrogate the way we consume ‘space’ and our relation with this cosmic theme. The tees were produced and sold in collaboration with Everpress, with the majority of them produced via screen printing. In order to design his t-shirts Florian found inspiration in scientific documents and old books he found at the flea market or in the laboratory. He collected and scanned some elements and then played with typography.
Saki Matsumoto: Kotori ShokudoIllustrator and graphic designer, Saki, was commissioned by Kotori shokudo, a canteen located in heart of Tokyo in front of the new Olympic stadium, to create a series of t-shirts as a celebration of their anniversary. Saki has been collaborating with the canteen for a while, working with them to create a brand identity which she has translated into these screen printed tees.
Ana Duje: T-Shirt for Young The Giant – Summer ’19 TourAna created this T-shirt illustration for Young The Giant, an American rock band from California. The T-shirt was featured in Young The Giant’s merchandising for their Summer 2019 Tour and was inspired by their latest album Mirror Master. The illustration is characteristic of Ana’s signature vibrant colour palette, simple texture and her use of anthropomorphic figures created from geometric shapes.
Ice Screen Printing x LE FIX: 20th Anniversary Limited Edition T-shirtsLe Fix was founded in Copenhagen in 1999 by Benny Kusk, Rasmus Jacobsen and Jesper Holm. From the very beginning the store on Guldbergsgade served as a framework for the brand’s history, which spans from design to art, street culture, tattoos, graffiti, music and clothing. The collection consists of two t-shirts and a hoodie. In addition, two t-shirts, in very limited numbers, have been screen printed by Ice Screen Printing in Denmark, following the same technique used to produce the brand’s very first t-shirts in 1999.
