Labelled as a studio which offers ‘a creative and considered approach to graphic design and art direction’ Intercity have launched their latest graphic design based project titled ‘TreadSneakers’. If you have already heard of Intercity then you’ll know they have a great love of all things bike-related, and in keeping with their interest in sports they have recently expanded their attention to the ever-evolving culture of sports footwear. Extending the concept of the studios initial tyre-themed ‘Tread’ print series, (which featured track marks and imprints left behind by a variety of bike tyres), they have produced a fresh series, exploring shapes and patterns which can be found on the outsoles of sneakers.
As a collection of six graphic designs, TreadSneakers examines and abstracts the recurring details from the outsoles of six classic sneakers. Illustrating the soles of adidas Stan Smith, Converse Chuck Taylor All Star, Nike Cortez, Nike Waffle Racer, Puma Clyde and Vans Authentic, can you match the correct sneaker to its corresponding artwork?
The TreadSneakers print series is available to purchase via print-process.com
UK-based graphic design studio Intercity was originally founded in 2004 and is made up of two graphic designers, Nathan Gale (remaining founder member) and William Hibberd. The creative pair work together across two studios based in Brighton and Bristol producing designs alongside a network of collaborators covering a vast selection of design disciplines from illustration, photography and digital media to mention just a few. As a team Intercity pushes to produce well considered artwork for areas including branding, editorial, music, fashion and advertising, as well as specialising in live art projects and exhibition curation.
