Last month the world lost a very talented individual and not to mention an incredible friend. At the age of 23, Joe Hayes accomplished what most of us could only dream of and he’d only just begun. A graphic designer, art director, photographer, film maker and typography buff, Joe was one of the most determined and driven people I knew and inspired everyone that met him. This is a celebration of his work and his ethos. Please take a moment to look through the work he created and some of his achievements. Joe studied graphic design at Chelsea College of Art and Design and was in his final year, he was keen to collaborate with his peers creating some outstanding publications and films. Very recently he was awarded first place in the Gentletude Design Awards, you can watch the video of Joe talking about the Kindness project and the inspiration behind it. He worked often through the night to balance his work and a number of internships including Volcom, Affirm Studios and Duke Press among many others. As well as this Joe was into band photography, working for magazines, bands and festivals. He also rarely missed a pub session with his nearest and dearest. However his most outstanding achievement by far is the impact left on others, whether you were lucky enough to know him or not. Don’t be scared to take risks, use your full potential and be proud of everything you create. Thank you for taking the time to view this.
