Classic French brand Petit Bateau have recently collaborated with Finnish designer Satu Maaranen in creating a collection that combines their iconic striped designs with Satus more free flowing organic prints. The collaboration came about with Satu winning the French Hyeres International Festival of Fashion and Photography giving her the opportunity to collaborate with Petit Bateau. Her work evokes a subtle playfulness; softened by the hand painted elements she adds to her work. This is something she says she has kept to retain a uniqueness within each new design.
Petit Bateau also recently celebrated their 120th Birthday since they started making clothes in its weaving factory in Troyes, France. Since then they have retained their goal to produce the highest quality clothing with a timeless feel, but whilst keeping there traditional heritage at the forefront of their brand its great to see them support new designers and taking risks with experimental designs.
