George Wheeler :: Tilapia Artwork

Graphic designer and writer here at People of Print, George Wheeler has produced artwork for his band Tilapia’s new EP ‘School’.

Working with beautifully grainy scans from an old anthropology textbook, George plays on the unique shape and design each pot has, imagining each one with different characteristics. Referencing the EP’s childish themes of growing up playing make believe, the artwork features childlike crayon scribbles over the pots. George comments,‘I like the idea that through the ages kids have always personalised their textbooks in class, defacing the images. This artwork serves as a sort of artefact referencing that minor artistic rebellion we all took part in.’
