Every summer, the European public broadcaster ARTE curates a programme line-up under the banner of ‘Summer of…’. After the Summer of Dreams, Summer of Voices, and Summer of Passion, this year’s theme is Summer of Champions. Throughout the summer, ARTE will be bringing films and documentaries about champions of all kinds: from Mohammed Ali to Tina Turner, from Queen to Tarzan. For ARTE’s new TV-programme, KesselsKramer have given overlooked champions the spotlight they deserve – you might not be the fastest runner or the best drummer, but you’re still a champion at something.
KesselKramer’s campaign highlights to the viewer that you can be a champion in many things: singing, dancing, swimming. But also in doing a backflip, folding Origami animals, or balancing a fork on the tip of your tongue. In the end, everybody is a champion at something! Therefore, the agency decided to show some less familiar champions. For example, a person working from home while doing a back bridge that also serves as a coffee table, or a girl that can create matching looks for herself and her poodle. By making them the face of the campaign, these champions get the spotlight they deserve.

Gijs van den Berg, creative director at KesselsKramer says; “While this summer will be filled with Olympic athletes, cycling heroes and Soccer champions, everyone else deserves to be in the spotlight as well”.
