On Friday I attended The annual Pick Me Up illustration show at Somerset House. As usual it was packed with talent and thriving with people checking out this years work. I have put together some features of personal highlights of the show. This post covers the work of Andrew Groves.
Illustrator Andrew Groves produces work borrowing themes from nature, exploration and adventures. Groves produced eight risograph prints for this years Pick Me Up show. Titled Field Studies, the prints explore composition and pattern resembling obscure wildlife studies. Andrew Groves trunks, fungi and foliage are accompanied by a range of wooden tools hung up among the prints. Taking you to a surreal world of exploration and survival, you can begin to imagine using these tools to interact with the abstract compositions.
