Rachael Hibbs (RLH Prints) is a freelance printmaker who currently resides and works from London. She uses the medium of linocut to carve out botanical and bohemian designs inspired by her upbringing in rural Oxfordshire and the natural world.
Completing a degree in Fine Art, it was only after university that Rachael started to explore the medium of lino printing. She currently works as the Printmaking Facilitator for Richmond College and runs workshops for young adults where she teaches a variety of printmaking techniques including screen print, etching and letterpress. Rachael currently uses the college studio to print all her work on beautiful antique presses.
Over the last two years, Rachael has had her work printed in publications such as Pressing Matters Magazine and Project Calm Magazine. She has collaborated with brands including Speedball Art and Flexcut Tools to deliver various art competitions and workshops. Rachael is part of Speedball’s professional artist network and will be working with them in the future on more exciting projects.
“Even though I currently love working in the studio at college, my dream is to one day be able to have my own studio where I can really develop my printmaking practice, and truly put my stamp on the space” explains the printmaker. Currently working on a range of surface pattern designs, Rachael would love to collaborate with an interior or product designer to produce a collection of patterns for surfaces including fabric and wallpaper.
