Tactile Desires is the latest project by multidisciplinary design studio, Vasty. Born from the creative curiosity of it’s artistic director Mariano Pagella, an Argentinian graphic designer, this series explores the relationship between the real and the digital realms.
First thought up some time ago, before the Covid-19 crisis and lockdown, Tactile Desires has only come alive now, at a very particular moment in which it’s sentiment is even more pertinent and makes more sense. This is due to all of the difficulties we are currently facing in connecting with other people in the way we were used to because of social distancing restrictions.
“Luckily, human beings have a great ability to adapt to circumstances and that is what we are doing, finding new ways to share our time and daily life with our loved ones no matter how far or isolated we are. I hope that when this is over, we will value real contact more than anything.”
Photographed by Mariano in Vasty’s Barcelona studio, the series showcases their typical bold and sleek style, highlighting their exquisite approach to concept, which combines art direction, graphic design and craft techniques. The studio achieves meaningful and iconic communication, with a sensitive signature.
