The Yearbook of Type 2019/20 is a practical guide that helps users choose a font that is the perfect fit for them and their project. Published by Slanted, the book includes a detailed presentation of 158 contemporary typefaces, as well as showcasing 176 type designers and 98 type foundries from 36 countries. In today’s fast-paced and internet based sharing climate, it has never been easier for Typeface users to keep up-to-date with the latest trends in typography. However, The Yearbook of Type collates these typefaces so that users can easily navigate this huge and diverse typographical landscape.

In the publication the reader is introduced to the world of typography through a series of articles accompanied by sketches, background and technical information, instructions, and descriptions. Each individual typeface in the Yearbook of Type 2019/20 is presented on a double-page spread. The left-hand page features the type specimen, whilst the right-hand page provides more information about the designer, type foundry and a summary of the font’s characteristics. The book also includes an extensive index of typeface classifications, as well as presenting the font designers, publishers, and explanations of OpenType features.
