AFRICAN APPAREL is an artist T-shirt label run by a hairy French man in Bristol. The label is rooted in the underground art and music scene and the aesthetic has been described as dark, funny, distorted, genius and controversial. It all started as a conceptual music project concentrating on creating absurd and psychedelic performances, reminiscent of a booze fuelled version of Alan Watts this is it, spontaneous and improvised. The band soon ended but the African Apparel name continued and was morphed into a clothing brand, championing the unique and original design that are now appearing on their tees. Every design are hand-printed in Bristol on 100% fairtrade cotton T- shirt.
