For 3 days only the Kiosk pop-up bookshop will find its temporary home inside The Peckham Pelican. Run as part of the Art Licks Weekend, the event now in its second year, aims to give a platform to young emerging artists, designers and small press publishers. Kiosk will focus on self-published books, zines, magazines, prints and ceramics. The exciting launch night will feature live drawing from Pat Macdonald and Elliot Freeman, and an auctioning of the ‘Tracing Emin’ book from Kyle Platts and King Zog, with all proceeds going to Art Against Knives.
The weekend will host 70 participating spaces and over 200 artists based in South and East London. The Weekend represents galleries and spaces that have been set up by many from their own initiative, ‘often with little or no funding’. A real showcase of the talent in the young design industry and an opportunity to check out some emerging talent too. The Kiosk Bookshop looks to be just one of the delights of the weekend, but check out the full Art Licks Weekend schedule to see what other gems are on offer.
