Bristol-based artist Anna Higgie has been working on a series of illustrations looking at Goddess’, with each image vibrating with psychedelic detail and playful intricacy, capturing a different mood and a different season.
Anna’s first goddess image was produced as a commission, and she was so pleased with the result that she decided to make a whole series. Thus far, Anna has created six goddess illustrations, with plans do many more.

The most recent illustration, Goddess Six, is a fertility goddess which Anna drew at the start of her pregnancy. The artist describes; “She is a female deity of fecundity and ever-expanding creative life force. Her two sets of eyes represent the two souls contained within the expectant mother. The cockerel represents the masculine aspect of fertility.”

Anna is an Australian born illustrator now living and working in Bristol, where she spends most of her time in her Stokes Croft studio creating art using a combination of traditional and digital techniques.
