Presenting Camille Romano, a french born illustrator and visual designer currently based in Helsinki, Finland. Creating an assortment of printed matter such as prints, illustrations, patterns, visual identities and layouts, Romano shared with us some of her latest works. Inspired by nature’s compositions, colours and shapes that can be observed from day to day life Romano experiments with a wide range of techniques from paper cutting, serigraphy or digital collage to develop her visual style. Physicality and handcrafting both go hand in hand regarding her work and play a big role in her creative process. Having worked as a graphic designer in several creative agencies she also enjoyed freelancing.

Wanting to pursue an increasing interest in illustration, she decided to go full-time as a freelancer during the fall 2015. Since then, she shares a studio space with 4 other talented illustrators and designers and divides her time between freelance work for private clients, festivals and creative agencies and personal projects where she focuses on experimenting. Camille’s visual style is inspired by shapes and colours of her everyday life in Helsinki and overall scandinavia. She mixes handmade and vectorised graphics in a minimal and spirited manner. Her visual intention is often driven by “How to express the most using the least?”
