Print Isnt Dead is an ongoing quest to engage in conversation and debate about creativity and independent art, design and print practitioners. As you may have heard, our latest issue deals with the theme of personalisation. We are inviting you to personalise the front cover of your copy that is individually typeset by our award-winning designer James Lunn. And today, after creating a huge collection of fantastic covers for Element 003, we asked Lunn to design his very own cover and here’s a little insight into how he came up with such an interesting composition.
Please introduce yourself.
Hello, I am James Lunn, I am a designer based in Yorkshire.
How would you describe your creative practice in three words?
Accidentally on purpose.
How did you come to the final design for the cover of Element 003?
An experiment with gradient-ed circles blended over an over and to generate a collection of abstract forms that I wanted to see given an existence outside of its digital creation.
You can now grab a copy of Print Isnt Dead Element 003 with this special cover designed by James Lunn here on our Department Store.
