Erin Elizabeth Kelly is a 24 year old photographer based between Belfast & London. She didn’t study photography and therefore is completely self-taught. Her main process is moodboard, shoot & edit… she says “it’s simple, less chaos.. I can’t deal with that.” She shoots on a Canon 1000d which is her first ever camera and she “shoots women, be it fashion or nudes because [she] enjoys it and women are sexy. Sexy is good!” Who can’t agree with that?
Explain the content of your work.
I like implied sexy, it’s prettier and more fun. It’s not “in your face” in the worst possible way. I don’t set out to shock people, even though some of my shots are pretty out there, I think the implied brings a mystery.. it’s a bit like teasing I guess.
Where do you print and exhibit your work?
I send my images off to be printed by a really great guy who for the strangest reason doesn’t want to be named! I want to share him but he won’t let me! I’ve done a small exhibition for Crafty Belfast – it was a small sexy affair called “Sauce”! I’ve been talks with a few other people in Europe, but honestly I don’t know when anything is going to happen. I’ll just let it take its course and see where it goes!
Why do you fly between Ireland and London for work?
It’s cheaper to fly between Ireland and London, and I get much more done than I would by living there. My happiness is in Ireland and I’m not in a rush to leave it!
