We’re stoked to be launching Gradspotters; a new platform dedicated to championing recent graduates within the fields of print and design. Applications are now open for new graduates to apply to be in with the chance of joining an amazing community and benefit from a heap of perks including mentorship, support and promotion across People of Print’s platform, and inclusion in our printed magazine. By participating in our initiative, Graduates not only have the chance to progress their career, but also join a vibrant, global community of print art enthusiasts.
Below, we take a look at the awesome work of one of our applicants so far, Isobel Skipper, a graphic designer who loves interactive and playful design.
For her Representing Diversity project, Isobel was briefed to create a leaflet advertising a mural unveiling at Nottingham Trent University. The mural aimed to celebrate the diverse community at NTU, and Isobel needed to reflect this in her leaflet. The concept was to create a series of interactive leaflets designed to look like a hand, handing you a leaflet. The colour variations were inspired by the six skin undertones, which when mixed can create any possible skin colour. “The message behind this piece is that we are all a unique blend but fundamentally we are made of the same stuff,” says the designer. Each 3D leaflet was digitally printed at 110x290mm and represents Isobel’s playful approach to design.
