Born in Taiwan, James Jean currently lives and works in Los Angeles as a designer / illustrator. After graduating from New York’s School of Visual Arts James began his career working as a comic book artist as he developed his practice in commercial illustration. James’ incredible illustrations have gained recognition for both their beauty and versatility working with clients from Prada to Atlantic Records picking up a selection of awards. James is inspired by Chinese silk scroll paintings, Japanese wood-block prints, anatomical drawings and etchings and is most recently focusing on hallucinatory forms and phantoms.
