Said to have “Revolutionized the visual vocabulary of contemporary art” Jean-Pierre Raynaud is an Artist living and working in Paris.
Launching his artistic career filling a flower pot with cement, Raynaud’s work consists of both free standing & wall objects, installations and architecture.
I’m a sucker for pattern and first came across Raynaud’s amazing work when I saw beautiful images of his installations involving white tiles.
After a bit of research I found his fascination with uniform and serial visual language culminated in his use of the white tile, which represents industrial perfection, hygiene & banality in the geometric design of his pieces.
