We’re excited to introduce KC (Kimberly Constantine) Ford, a graphic designer, illustrator and printmaker from Titchfield, England. Currently finishing her final year studying Graphic Arts at University of Southampton’s Winchester School of Art, KC has been interested in printmaking since her art and design foundation course in 2014 where she first practised screen printing. Since then she has been experimenting with lino, woodblock, risograph and screen print, exploring their capabilities and their interaction with different surfaces and substrates.
She loves to design and create work based around her interests such as video games, witchery, space (specifically the moon) and the sea. She also likes to design work on the positives of things that have a lot of negative stigma. For example, her current final major project, Reality vs Digital Reality, explores how modern society and the media present video games in a negative light while comparing in addition of creating awareness of how video games help those suffering from mental illness. She uses screen printing and risograph methods to create immersion and replicate what people with these mental health issues feel.
