Always embedding an admiration for the abstract into her work, Melissa Ougham’s fondness for the removing of shapes from their context and thus challenging the viewers perception is ever apparent, defining the expressive aesthetic which informs her hand rendered creations. Using digital techniques, Melissa Ougham creates innovative and contemporary prints which radiate her passion for free styled mark making and have awarded her the opportunity to take part in Texprint 2016.

From the use of atmospheric hues decorating organic designs to pastel colour palettes detailing dynamic prints, Ougham expresses her passion for textile design by delving into an array of styles, thus continuously reinterpreting her vision of interior surfaces while still managing to maintain her dramatic yet delicate aesthetic.
