Natulavisual is Natalia Alamo, a Buenos Aires-based visual artist and self-taught engraver. Passionate about art since childhood, Natalia has always been exploring different visual art techniques. As a child she would draw with pencils and markers, and during her adolescence she developed into experimenting with acrylics and watercolours. She discovered linocut 10 years later, and her life and approach to art was changed forever.
Through her prints, Natalia fuses the techniques that she loves. She combines specific colours and techniques that complement the images she has drawn. These images draw inspiration from music, cinema, and nature. Most of her prints are created from her small home studio, but she also has a workshop space at Casa Bonsái where she teaches engraving classes. Her creative process begins with sketches that are transferred to PVC or Linoleum blocks. These are then carved and printed on paper, which Natalia further embellishes and combines with techniques such as acrylic paint and watercolours.
To date, Natalia has participated in various virtual exhibitions, including 2018 Provincial Hall Florencio M. Campos, Drawing and Engraving (Argentina), 2022 5th Call for online individual or group exhibitions (Mexico), and 2023 Esquel International Engraving Exhibition – Chubut (Argentina). She has also contributed to exhibitions at the “Eduardo Sívori” Museum of Plastic Arts, Lezica Cultural Center, 2nd International Graphic Exchange of Tandil, “Daughters of Art” Gallery, and the Argentine National Museum of Engraving, among others.
