Swiss artist Olaf Breuning is known for his playful, colourful work, and this series of works, named Elevation 1049, set with the alps at Gstaad is a continuation of this aesthetic. Using the snow as his canvas, Breuning has used food colouring in snow and then strewn it down the piste. Over time, the coloured snow becomes displaced by the action of the skiers crossing it, and has mixed the colours in such a way that it looks like crayon scribbles on paper.
