Working from Treviso, Italy, Patrick Sabbadin is a screen print artist, pre-press operator, and graphic designer in typography. He describes himself as “a person who desires to show his appreciation of life through things I create”. Through his prints Patrick demonstrates how he understands life, and portrays messages that are important to him.
Patrick’s passion for screen printing began to blossom back in 2011 whilst he was attending Graphic Arts School. His early prints were primarily typographic, exploring issues of racism and his emotions using words; a style which he has now developed to be his signature. Initially, Patrick was slow to share his work because he felt “a little insecure”. He explains; “I felt people would not appreciate my work, so I only created for myself. I was young and I did not have the experience, the money or the confidence I needed”. However, after 9 years, things changed, and last year Patrick decided to put his efforts to work. Today, he has adopted the screen printing process as his main method of expression, as according to Patrick “it represents my strength and my dreams”.
“My work is an extension of me; it’s a combination of my feelings and life experiences… without these combinations my work would not exist.”
The printmaker is excited about the future of his work and the direction it will take in the years to come. Currently creating limited editions of his works, Patrick’s ultimate desire “is that people will understand the message I want to share with the world”.
