Sam Friedmans recent work is searingly colourful, intricate, contrasting, bold, bright, yet delicate. It might not seem so, but Sams work is inspired by visions of the natural world. You can observe this in some of Friedmans earlier works, which depict landscape scenes, and forest views. Sams most recent show, Territories Unexplored at New York gallery Geranmayeh still has a lot of natural reference, but has developed further into abstraction and bold colour choice.
