Vanessa and Valentin are the faces behind the agency, Atelier Hourra. They are two French creatives creating from and living in rural South of France. The duo work as graphic designers for local brands and companies, as well as printing their own illustrations. Besides their clients projects, they also carve their own linocut designs, create Risograph prints, and practice screen printing.

The duo’s most recent project is a series of Riso prints that focus on patterns created with two complementary colours. In these prints, they deconstuct forms and use them in graphic design to create minimal and coloured patterns. The series is inspired by the patterns, artists, and culture of the 1970s. From these patterns, Vanessa and Valentin have also created posters and hand-made notebooks.

Currently, Vanessa and Valentin are working on building a creative space in their region that will permit other illustrators to do what they love without travelling to or living in big cities, bringing the art of printing processes to theirs and others’ graphic and branding work.
