Element #003 | Zut Alors! | The Artist Series Cover

New York-based graphic design studio Zut Alors! have done a very good job. And indeed, their special cover design for Element 003 does represent the dynamic energy of New York City’s creative worlds. We had a nice little chat with studio partners Brendan Griffiths and Frank DeRose to get to know more about their design for the latest issue of Print Isn’t Dead™. And here’s the inside scoop on how they came up with such an incredible artwork.

Hello we are Zut Alors and we are not French, but we kiss like we were.

How would you describe your creative practice in three words?
Oh. My. God.

How did you come to the final design for the cover of Element 003?
We were told that we should use the provided typeface so we made our typeface out of the provided typeface.
And we wanted to say something that we believed.
