Introducing the new publication and LP titled ‘Graphic Arts Future’ from Sonnenzimmer, the Chicago-based studio of Nick Butcher and Nadine Nakanishi. Their practise is an impressive cocktail of typography, graphic design, printmaking and fine art shaken together to create their hand-crafted posters, books, packaging, publications, public art and client work predominantly screen printed in-house. ‘Graphic Arts Future’ asks the question of today, tomorrow, yesterday – where does 2D expression start and where does it end? Launching at LCBA, hosted by Yuck Print House on 27th November.

Nick and Nadine have had somewhat of an elastic existence (est. 2006) since beginning as a shared painting studio, equipped with industrial screen printing equipment, the venture quickly morphed into a design and print studio specialising in hand-crafted prints and design for some of the citys most recognised cultural institutions. As image making is becoming more and more present in commerce and enjoying a true revival in printmaking and painting, they hope their mixture of fine and applied art will be looked at as complimentary assets.
