After graduating from Falmouth University, Alexandra Higlett and Georgina Hounsome decided to establish a small design and print studio and it is Pirrip Press where they share a common passion for screen-printing and letterpress. Having studied design and illustration, there is nothing better for this duo than seeing ink being forced into the printing surface during the squeegee stroke. They also work as freelance illustrators and their projects produced at Pirrip Press are more than just a band of cheery human characters rendered in beautiful colour palettes but the challenge of producing screen-print and design work in the most economical and aesthetic way.
Their work encapsulates the essence of why people are still printing and that’s also the reason why their stationery, cards, wedding invitations, artwork and many other printed ephemera are exceptionally attractive and always tell interesting stories. And the good news is their work is also available for purchase now at our Department Store – pretty amazing, isn’t it?
