Another exciting event this month is the Eat Lead exhibition curated by Hackney-based letterpress studio Pixel Press, held at the Atom Gallery. Eat Lead is few of its kind, showcasing an international assortment of talented Letterpress artists with work spanning from the highly traditional to the experimental. Featuring work that explores the extensive creativity executed with letterpress printing techniques.
The guys over at Pixel Press made the exhibition a valuable resource to inspire artists, designers, printers to continue with this old tradition and bring to the fore the paramount role printers have played and continue to play in the letterpress process. Some of the highlights of the exhibition include gorgeous 30’s/40’s original posters found when Atom moved into the space, a re-printed (by Atom) Suffragette poster and a magazine stand including It’s Nice That Printed Pages magazine. On until the 17th of March, this event is not to be missed!
