The second-year BA Graphic Design students from Central Saint Martins are opening the most expensive pop-up shop, offering 940 limited-edition objects and artworks at a starting price of £1,000,000. This campaign’s attempt is, in reality, to drive the prices down, with an aim to raise funds for the Graphics Degree Show in 2015.
Worth is considered the world’s first social media-fuelled price-drop pop-up, because every product in the shop goes cheaper every time the website is shared via Facebook or Twitter. Up to the present, the prices have fallen down to around £55,000, shortly after the story was spread as a publicity stunt. The location of the shop has not been announced, but you can certainly take part in the experiment and puzzle out what value really means to you.
94 students, 940 products and a £1,000,000 price tag.
