Anna Rose, the creative behind Good Seed Craft Co, has just launched her first online printing class; A Beginner’s Guide to Linoleum Printing. No matter your level of experience or creativity, this class is accessible to all. From start to finish, you will be provided with all of the support necessary to create your first hand carved linoleum print.
Anna Rose’s own artistic practice is motivated by observation and reflection. “I am always looking for symbolism in my experiences as a sort of cathartic exercise to make sense of my life,” says the printmaker. This class aims to inspire others to find their creativity too, and develop a new means of expression. Printmaking has been a part of Anna Rose’s life since 2018, when she took a college level printmaking course. Her background in Art Education and years spent in the classroom help her take a minimalist approach to printmaking. She comments; “I’m always reminded that anyone can print, with even the simplest tools. It doesn’t have to be overly complicated to be lovely and inspiring.”
The course, which is led in a 45 minute length video and comes with lifetime access, is designed to be followed at your own pace, with the opportunity to pause in between each step as you complete it. If you’re struggling to find inspiration, the course also comes with a handbook which includes a variety of templates that you can follow along or modify based on your comfort level. The handbook also includes a supply list with all materials and equipment necessary to get started, and recommendations for purchasing.
Anna Rose first decided to share her printmaking knowledge after coming to the realisation that “art wasn’t just for the fancy”. She tells us; “I wanted to make this class to show people that they can slow down and make things, even beautiful things. I wanted to create the space for lay people, not stuffy snobby artists, to fall in love with the satisfaction of pulling a print.”
