Hot Printing. Offenbach Print Festival, 22 and 23 August 2026

It’s set to be a colourful and diverse weekend once again: For the third time, the Hot Printing festival in Offenbach will bring together over 90 artists and collectives who explore the theme of printing in a wide variety of ways. A young and dynamic scene will showcase their printed works – from screen-printed posters to traditional letterpress, experimental lithography and material printing, right through to comics and zines in vibrant colours produced on a Risograph printer!
You can look forward to stalls, workshops, readings, talks, exhibitions, music, a bar, good food and inspiring discussions. Find the full festival programme at www.klingspormuseum.de – entry is free!
Printing plays a major role in Offenbach’s history: Lithography was first used commercially in Offenbach for printing sheet music at the end of the 18th century, laying the foundations for the printing of posters and illustrations, which is now ubiquitous. The Klingspor Museum collects modern and contemporary printed works, and small print workshops and initiatives have been setting up in the city over the past few years. Printing is simply part of Offenbach’s identity, and exhibitors from the surrounding area are now looking forward to welcoming a diverse range of visitors, alongside print enthusiasts from Leipzig, Hamburg, Berlin, Vienna, Zurich and the Netherlands!
As well as browsing and shopping, you can of course try your hand at printing here too: The hands-on programme includes postcard printing on the Boston platen press in the print workshop, Lego printing and kitchen lithography, a sock-printing station using screen printing, cyanotype and water lithography, as well as a host of talks, demonstrations and readings. The workshops are aimed at print enthusiasts of all ages, whether you’re an experienced printer or a keen amateur – there’s something for everyone!
