A global platform for print, design and visual culture
People of Print is a global creative platform dedicated to the culture of print, design and visual communication.
Founded in 2008, the platform brings together printmakers, illustrators, designers, studios, publishers, brands and institutions who believe in the power of physical media and thoughtful visual communication.
Through editorial features, printed publications, collaborations and a growing membership community, People of Print documents and supports the people shaping contemporary print culture around the world.
While print remains at the heart of the platform, the work we share extends across illustration, graphic design, typography, publishing and the wider visual arts.
What People of Print does
People of Print operates as both an editorial platform and a creative community.
Our main platform, peopleofprint.com, publishes curated articles featuring studios, projects, exhibitions, tools, materials and ideas connected to print and visual culture.
Alongside the website, we also develop and produce a range of creative projects including:
• Printed publications such as Posterzine and artist editions
• Collaborative campaigns with brands and cultural organisations
• Exhibitions, talks and events that bring the community together
• Editorial partnerships and industry storytelling projects
The aim is simple: to highlight meaningful work and support the people making it.
A global community
Over the years, People of Print has grown into an international network of creatives and organisations working across many disciplines.
Our community includes:
• Printmakers and illustrators
• Graphic designers and typographers
• Independent studios and creative agencies
• Print studios, publishers and galleries
• Brands, institutions and cultural organisations
Some people come to discover new work and inspiration. Others join to grow their practice, collaborate with others, or connect with a wider audience interested in print and visual culture.
Membership and community
POP Members is the verified membership community that supports the People of Print ecosystem.
Membership provides individuals, studios and organisations with tools to showcase their work, connect with other creatives and gain additional visibility through the platform.
Members also help sustain the independent publishing work that People of Print has carried out for more than a decade.
Alongside professional memberships, Friends of Print is our entry-level tier designed for supporters, collectors and enthusiasts who want to stay connected to the community and support our ongoing projects.
Membership is optional and sits alongside the editorial platform. Being featured on People of Print does not require membership, and membership does not guarantee editorial coverage.
How People of Print started
People of Print began in 2008 as a small online directory documenting illustrators, designers and printers experimenting with print processes and materials.
As submissions grew, the project evolved into a wider platform showcasing contemporary printmaking and design.
In 2013 the project became a limited company, allowing it to expand into publications, exhibitions, collaborations and new initiatives supporting the print community.
Since then People of Print has worked with creatives and organisations around the world while remaining rooted in the belief that physical media still plays an essential role in visual culture.
Looking ahead
People of Print continues to evolve alongside the community it represents.
We are currently developing a new platform and infrastructure that will bring together editorial publishing, membership, marketplace tools and community spaces into a more connected ecosystem.
The goal is to create one of the most useful and visible platforms for print, design and visual culture, while remaining independent, community-driven and creatively focused.
