STiLLLiFE is an Atlanta based small press boutique run by husband and wife team Jason Murphy and Katie Ridley Murphy. Specialising in books, art prints and independent publishing. We spoke to them to find out a little more:

Tell us a little about yourselves

I was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi and Katie, my wife was raised in Florida. We met at Ringling college of art in Sarasota,Florida, where we both earned our BFA degrees. After college we moved to Atlanta and worked as freelance illustrators and designers.

In recent years, she has become heavily involved in traditional printmaking and I began making my own comics and art books using a risograph machine.

What was your inspiration to start STiLLLiFE

I began to realize that most of my contemporaries in the art comics world were based in places like Toronto, New York and Portland; and I had to order their work online, because it was not being distributed to Atlanta.

I had made some friendships on-line with some of these artists, so in December of 2014, we decided that we should open up our own shop and order our inventory directly from artists and small presses.

What do you sell?

We sell comics, prints, original art, vintage books and Katie is currently working on a line of porcelain sculptures.

What platforms do you use?

We have a small space in a market here in Atlanta that is open 7 days a week and we also have our on-line store on storenvy.

What are your plans for the future?

Our endeavour is still in its genesis stage but we hope to expand in the years to come!
