Risorama brings together a collection of national and international artists and printers for a one-day adventure in risography. Once marketed to schools as a cheap copier, risograph printing has become a favourite of graphic designers, creatives, zine makers and art institutions. Be sure to attend Protein Studios on 3rd September from 11am to 6pm for a day of original art books, zines and prints.
Risorama will showcase pioneers of riso printing such as Risotto (Glasgow), Tan & Loose Press (Chicago) and Bananafish Books (Shanghai). Exhibiting alongside these artist-led displays will be a handpicked selection of new and exclusive editions from the likes of Rose Blake, William Edmonds (Nous Vous), Atelier Bingo and Rob Lowe (Supermundane). With drop-in workshops throughout the day, you can learn more about this burgeoning printing process and take home your very own made prints. It promises to be a day of bold, colourful, misregistered magic.
For 2016, the fair is doing something a little different. In a departure from traditional table-top selling, they’re working with the Hepworth Wakefield to create free standing structures to exhibit the works on sale, too.
