Benjamin Murphy is a visual artist based in London. He creates his artworks by using black electrical tape and a surgical scalpel. His work is monochromatic, made with figurative line drawing and primary focuses on the female form with lots form with lots of ornamental decorative elements.
Benjamin uses the tape as a base, he then builds it up by cutting and sticking it onto a pane of glass which he then encases in resin. Benjamin also makes prints, that show a resemblance to his tape drawings through his unique lines. He works predominantly in relief printing, as he likes getting his hands dirty.
He just made a new A2 lino print, it’s hand drawn, cut and printed by the Benjamin himself onto torn-edge Fabriano Rosaspina Bianco Paper.
