Plotoprints, also known as Jess Plotogea is a printmaker who’s aim is to bring back the magic that so many people forget exists as they grow up. Her prints range in theme but have a similar objective: to put a smile on your face. Plotogea is based in Ontario, Canada and at the ripe age of 23 has been practising printmaking for a year and a half having been initially exposed to the craft through university.
After graduating with a Psychology degree, Plotogea felt, like any other university graduate, the pressure of moving forward and finding a job. So, instead of submitting to these external pressures, she turned to art. Art and printmaking became a way to exercise her brain and indulge in the process of creating and imagination. Her practice takes the form of beautifully intricate linocuts inspired by the spiritual imagery of the planets, the stars and our universe. “Spare time means carving time, it’s truly become an incredible outlet for me,” says Plotogea. “I believe it’s important to add some fairy dust into those overthinking adult brains every now and then and I hope my prints do that for you. Thank you, everyone, for the love and support.”
