Ana Pacheco was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1983, a city known for its historic and eclectic architecture. After a short university incursion in the Faculty of Engineering, Ana decided to pursue her life-long ambition; becoming an architect. In 2009, Ana achieved her Masters in Architecture degree with honours in the Portuguese capital.Whilst studying at university, Ana not only stuck to her academic path, but went beyond; exploring and consolidating different art forms. As part of her Architecture Masters Course, she spent a year living in Eindhoven, Holland, where she came in deep contact with De Stijl and Bauhaus movements. This encounter was crucial for her development as an artist, and the influences of this period may be considered a staple of the work Ana creates today.Following the experience and knowledge acquired in Holland during her academic studies, Ana decided to embrace and pursue a path that would allow her to be in close contact with avant-garde artistic expressions. In 2010, she was awarded a Inov-Art grant from the Portuguese government and moved to London to kick-start her career as an architect.London proved itself to be the art hub Ana was looking for. Whilst in London, she attended several workshops and courses at Shadwell Print Studio in order to sediment and con-substantiate the art of printmaking. The knowledge, experience and skills from her tutor (Anna) were vital for the experimentation, learning and exploration of the different printmaking techniques. In 2018, Ana set sail on a solo adventure by establishing habitoprints, a brand that comprises a selection of works exploring the synergy between architecture and printmaking. These works have been recently exhibited and selected to be part of 251st Summer Exhibition: Royal Academy of Arts (London, UK), shortlisted ad exhibited at the Print International: Ty Pawb (Wales, UK) and several exhibitions in London and Lisbon.Ana currently lives in London with her partner Nicolas, where she splits her time working as an architect and establishing and developing habitoprints in her studio.
