Flora Popovich, a Buenos Aires-based printmaker, is the face behind Fauna Taller. Flora specialises in screen printing and textile experimentation, primarily using ecological inks. Her screen printing workshop is dedicated to working exclusively for up-and-coming entrepreneurs, offering low-volume production for those just starting a project, or those who want limited editions of products.
Flora studied Fine Arts with an orientation in Engraving and Printed Art; an education that continues to influence her creative output today. In her personal work, she utilises natural colours, or those that are reminiscent or reflective of nature, thus breaking the rigidity and coldness of the geometric patterns she designs.
Alongside her personal work, at Fauna Taller Flora conducts workshops in screen printing, as well as offering an online course for beginners. They provide a screen printing service across a variety of materials including apparel and textile furnishings, labels with logos, and tote bags.
She dreams of one day building a brand of handbags and shoes that use her own prints, printed using a process that is as ecological as possible, as well as providing work to those from all walks of society. Flora concludes; “I believe that those of us who stamp are responsible for leaving traces of our present in the future”.
